The Uttar Pradesh government has temporarily suspended the salaries of 68,236 government employees for failing to submit details of their movable and immovable properties within the stipulated time. According to administrative sources, this strict action has been taken following directions from the Yogi Adityanath government.
All government employees were instructed to upload detailed information about their personal assets on the state government’s Human Resources (HR) portal. In a directive issued earlier, Chief Secretary S. P. Goyal had made it mandatory to submit these details by January 31. However, even after the deadline passed, a large number of employees failed to comply with the order.
As per official data, those facing action include 34,926 Group C employees, 22,624 Group D employees, 7,204 Group B employees, and 2,628 Group A officers. Employees from several key departments—such as Revenue, Education, Health, Social Welfare, and others—are included in this list.
The administration has made it clear that salaries will remain suspended until the concerned employees upload their property details. Moreover, officials have warned that failure to submit the information within the prescribed time may lead to departmental inquiries and strict disciplinary action on charges of misconduct.
The government has stated that this decision aims to curb corruption among employees and enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in government functioning.
