Agartala, March 23, 2026 — The Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) has officially released its first list of candidates for the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections, marking an early step in its poll campaign strategy.
In this initial phase, the party has announced nine nominees, all from constituencies reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates. The list was issued under the authority of the party’s leadership, signaling the beginning of its electoral preparations.
The declared candidates will contest from key constituencies including Damcharra–Jampui, Maharani–Teliamura, Ramchandraghat, Simna–Tomakari, Amtali–Golaghati, Ampinagar, Raima Valley, Nutan Bazar–Malbasa, and Birchandranagar–Kalsi.
Party leaders indicated that the selected nominees have strong grassroots connections and are expected to strengthen IPFT’s presence in tribal-dominated regions. More names are likely to be announced in the coming days as the elections approach.
The TTAADC elections, scheduled for April 2026, are considered crucial as they determine governance in the tribal autonomous council, covering a significant portion of Tripura’s territory.
