In a major political move ahead of the 2026 TTAADC elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its list of 28 candidates and confirmed that it will contest all seats independently, stepping away from any alliance arrangement.
The decision comes at a time when discussions over a possible alliance with Tipra Motha have intensified, but both sides appear to be charting separate electoral paths. BJP leaders indicated that the party, currently in the opposition in the ADC, is aiming to fight all constituencies on its own strength.
The announcement has further fueled political debate in Tripura, as the ruling alliance partners at the state level now prepare to face each other in the tribal council elections. With multiple parties opting to go solo, the upcoming TTAADC polls are expected to witness a highly competitive and multi-cornered contest.
