In a move aimed at easing the financial burden on citizens, the Government of India has reduced central excise duty by ₹10, a decision expected to lower fuel prices across the country. The step comes amid rising inflation and global economic challenges affecting daily expenses.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative is seen as a relief measure for households, transporters, and small businesses struggling with increasing costs.
Welcoming the decision, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha appreciated the Centre’s move, calling it a people-friendly step. He stated that such policies reflect the government’s commitment to public welfare and economic stability.
The revised excise duty has come into effect immediately, ensuring that the benefits reach the public without delay.
