
In the early hours of May 28th, a powerful bomb blast—allegedly triggered by unidentified miscreants—caused extensive damage to several under-construction structures at a tourist facility in the Jampui Hills, near the Mizoram border. The incident has raised serious security concerns in the region.
In response to the shocking and unfortunate incident, a high-level meeting was convened today at the conference hall of Eden Tourist Lodge in Jampui Hills. The meeting was chaired by Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury and attended by the local MLA, representatives from various administrative and political levels, the Secretary and Director of the Tourism Department, the District Magistrate, the Superintendent of Police, senior administrative officials, and local leaders.
Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury directed the officials to conduct a thorough investigation into the blast and identify those responsible. He emphasized that the culprits must be brought to justice and strict action should be taken without delay.
Authorities are now focusing on restoring security in the area while ensuring that tourism development projects proceed without further disruption.
