Bangladeshi National and Indian Agent Nabbed at Agartala Railway Station

In a fresh incident of illegal cross-border movement, a Bangladeshi national along with an Indian tout was apprehended at Agartala Railway Station.

The arrested Bangladeshi has been identified as Shyamal Chandra Barman, aged 23, a resident of Gaibandha, Bangladesh. Accompanying him was an Indian middleman, Abhijit Sarkar, aged 32, hailing from Trisha Bari, Teliamura.

During preliminary interrogation, the duo admitted that they had planned to travel to Kolkata using the Agartala Railway Station as their transit point. Authorities suspect a possible human trafficking or illegal migration network behind the incident.

Further investigation is underway.
