
Agartala, June 12 — Preparations are nearly complete for the week-long Kharchi Puja, one of Tripura’s most significant traditional festivals, set to begin on July 3 at the Chaturdash Devta Temple in Khayerpur.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday, local MLA and Chairman of the Kharchi Puja Committee, Ratan Chakraborty, shared key details of this year’s arrangements. He was joined by Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Jharna Rani Das and other dignitaries.
This year’s festival will be themed around ‘Operation Sindoor’, and the grand inauguration of both the Kharchi Puja and exhibition will be conducted by Hon’ble Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha. Also expected to attend the inaugural ceremony are Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Mayor Dipak Majumder, and other officials.
The closing day on July 9 may see the presence of MP and former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, as well as MP Rajib Bhattacharjee.
