80,000 Yaba Tablets Seized from Hidden Compartment of Mini Truck in Tripura; One Arrested

In a major drug bust, police recovered 80,000 Yaba tablets from a secret compartment of a Magic mini truck (registration number TR 05 C 1755) on Sunday around 9:30 AM while it was entering Tripura from Assam, acting on a tip-off.

The tablets were found packed in eight large bundles. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Sanjay Sahani (24), a resident of Ward No. 4 under Purba Phulbari Gram Panchayat near the Churaibari railway goods yard, was arrested on the spot.

Superintendent of Police Abhinash Rai stated that the seized contraband is estimated to have a black market value of around ₹4 crore.
