BJP Leaders Urinate on the Bodies of Tribals”: Sudip Roy Barman’s Remark Triggers Massive BJP Protest

Date:

A fresh political controversy has erupted in Tripura following a shocking statement made by senior Congress leader and MLA Sudip Roy Barman.

While addressing a tribal convention organized by the Congress at Ambassa Town Hall on Monday, Roy Barman made a provocative allegation against the ruling BJP, stating:

“BJP leaders urinate on the bodies of tribals.”

This explosive remark sparked immediate outrage from the BJP, particularly its Janajati Morcha (Tribal Front). In response, BJP tribal workers organized a protest outside the hostel where the MLA currently stays.

The protest took a violent turn as the agitators allegedly broke open the hostel gate, stormed inside the premises, and vandalized chairs while shouting slogans against Roy Barman.

Security forces were soon deployed to bring the situation under control.

The BJP has strongly condemned the remark, calling it an insult to the tribal community and demanded a public apology from the Congress MLA.

Meanwhile, the Congress party defended Roy Barman, claiming his words were a metaphor for the BJP’s “continuous neglect and humiliation” of tribal rights and dignity.
