Students Left Waiting in Rain as Teachers Fail to Arrive for Exam at Udaipur School

Date:

Despite the scheduled start of exams, not a single teacher or staff member turned up on time at Tatuatilla High Basic School in Udaipur, leaving students stranded in the rain. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has sparked outrage among local residents and raised serious concerns about the functioning of the school.

According to reports, the students had arrived punctually for their examinations, which were set to begin at 11 AM as per the government schedule. However, by that time, no teachers had arrived to open the school or conduct the exam. With heavy rainfall pouring down, the students were seen standing in the school field and nearby areas, soaked and without shelter.

Tatuatilla High Basic School, which offers education from Class I to VIII, was established in 2009 after prolonged demands by residents of North Chandrapur in the Udaipur subdivision. The school was set up to provide local children access to education without having to travel far. However, over the years, the quality of education and school management has reportedly deteriorated.

Currently, the school has seven teaching staff — five male teachers and two female teachers. But students allege that the teachers rarely attend regularly, leading to disruptions in academic activities. Thursday’s no-show during the scheduled exam has added to growing frustration.

Local residents and parents have claimed that this kind of negligence is not new. Students are frequently forced to wait outside in the rain due to delayed school openings. Complaints made to the headmaster, Madhusudan Mondal, have allegedly gone unaddressed, further aggravating the issue.

Due to these ongoing problems, enrollment in the school has been steadily declining. Residents are now demanding immediate action from the education department to restore proper functioning in the institution. The community waits anxiously to see what steps authorities will take to ensure accountability and safeguard students’ right to education.
