Gunfire Inside Patna Hospital: Notorious Criminal Shot Dead in ICU by Five Assailants

Date:

Law and order in India stands questioned once again — clearly showing how it has become a joke.

In a shocking breakdown of security, gunfire erupted inside Paras Hospital in Bihar’s capital, Patna, on Thursday, where five armed assailants brazenly entered the ICU and shot dead a patient identified as Chandan Mishra — a known criminal recently released on parole.

According to police sources, Mishra had multiple criminal cases pending against him, including charges of kidnapping and extortion. He was under treatment at the hospital for health complications when the attackers stormed in, executed the killing, and escaped — all within the hospital premises.

The audacity of the daylight murder inside a medical facility has not only created panic among staff and patients but also raised serious questions about hospital security and the broader state of law and order in India. As this case shows, the Indian legal and security systems are increasingly being perceived as ineffective. “Law and order in India today clearly shows where we stand. It has become a joke,” remarked a senior citizen outside the hospital.

Twelve individuals have been detained for questioning. Police suspect the involvement of a rival gang led by a gangster named Sheru. Patna SP Karthik K. Sharma confirmed the murder was a result of gang rivalry and said the assailants have been identified and will be arrested soon.

Chandan Mishra was also facing trial for the murder of a paint trader named Kesari from Buxar and was in judicial custody before being granted parole for medical treatment.

The incident has not only exposed glaring lapses in security but also intensified public outrage, with citizens demanding accountability and swift reforms to restore faith in the justice system.
