Double Robbery in Bishalgarh on Same Day: Car Recovered, Main Accused Arrested — ₹11 Lakh Loot Still Untraced

Bishalgarh, Tripura – June 2:  In a shocking turn of events, two major robberies took place on the same day in Bishalgarh, triggering panic and outrage across the state. While police have managed to recover a stolen vehicle and arrest the key accused in one of the incidents, the case involving the robbery of ₹11 lakh remains unsolved.

According to reports, on June 2, unidentified miscreants attacked a father and son with knives, leaving them critically injured before fleeing with ₹11 lakh in cash. On the same day, the personal Bolero vehicle of Bishalgarh Women Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shiuli Das was also forcibly taken away.

The twin incidents prompted swift action from the Sepahijala District Police and senior police officials. Separate cases have been registered at Bishalgarh Police Station, and intensive investigations are underway.

Under instructions from the state police headquarters, special teams were formed to probe both cases thoroughly and bring the culprits to justice at the earliest. The incidents not only alarmed law enforcement but also triggered political pressure, as both robberies are being viewed as serious breaches of public safety in Bishalgarh.

Local MLA Sushanta Deb and senior police officials have expressed deep concern over the back-to-back crimes. The opposition parties have seized the opportunity to criticize the government, questioning the law and order situation in the state.

On Tuesday, police achieved a breakthrough by recovering the stolen Bolero vehicle. Within 24 hours, they arrested Jewel Ahmed, the prime accused in the vehicle robbery case, from the Koiyadepa area of Bishalgarh.

Later that night, Sepahijala Superintendent of Police Bijoy Debbarma, along with the SDPO of Bishalgarh, visited the police station. In a press briefing, SP Debbarma confirmed that the special investigation team had successfully tracked down and apprehended the main accused, who is currently being interrogated. He added that Jewel Ahmed would be produced before the Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Court on Thursday, with police seeking his remand.

Police are optimistic that the robbed cash and other accused persons involved in the money heist will be tracked down soon.

While the police have made progress in solving the car robbery case, the ₹11 lakh cash robbery case remains unsolved. SP Debbarma stated that efforts are in full swing, and further interrogations of the accused may lead to significant breakthroughs in the second case as well.
