CM Manik Saha to Flag Off Motorcycle Rally on International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

Date:

Agartala, June 26:

In a significant move to spread awareness against drug abuse and promote social responsibility, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tripura, Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, will attend a special programme on the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

The event, organized under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, will be held at the Umakanta Academy Playground in Agartala. One of the major highlights of the programme will be the flagging off of a Motorcycle Rally by the Chief Minister, aimed at mobilizing youth and citizens in the fight against the menace of drugs.

In addition to the rally, a blood donation camp will also be organized at the venue, encouraging voluntary participation in acts of service and community well-being.

The twin initiative seeks to create awareness, inspire action, and engage people—particularly the youth—in building a drug-free and healthier society. Senior government officials, police personnel, social workers, and members of the general public are expected to participate in large numbers.

The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is observed globally on June 26 every year, reinforcing the importance of a coordinated and concerted approach to combating one of the most serious challenges to public health and safety.
