Crime Rate Drops in State, Claims DGP!

The law and order situation in the state has improved significantly, according to Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Dhankar. He stated that incidents related to drug trafficking and various types of accidents have notably decreased in recent times.

Today, the DGP held an important review meeting at the conference hall of the Khowai District Superintendent of Police office. The meeting was attended by officers from all seven police stations, one outpost, and two TSR camps under the district.

Following the meeting, DGP Dhankar informed the media that the number of criminal cases in the state has decreased by 8 to 10 percent compared to last year. Road accidents have dropped by nearly 30 percent. He also mentioned that in NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) cases, more offenders have been sent to jail this year than the previous one, and drugs worth crores of rupees have been seized.

The DGP emphasized that today’s review meeting with all the Officers-in-Charge (OCs) was held to ensure this success continues. Along with the DGP, the meeting was attended by Khowai District Superintendent of Police Ranaditya Das, 7th Battalion TSR Commandant Rati Ranjan Debnath, and other senior police officials of the district.
