Agartala, July 9: In a shocking incident that raises serious concerns about public safety, a daring robbery took place late Monday night in the Ichamoya area of Chandrapur, Agartala.
Taking advantage of a woman being alone at home, a group of burglars forced their way into the residence of Debabrata Ghosh. The victim, mistaking the intruders for her husband, opened the door. One of the assailants, with his face covered, immediately gagged her and held her at knifepoint, demanding all valuables.
While one of the robbers restrained the housewife, the other entered the house and ransacked the place. The duo managed to flee with cash, gold ornaments, and other valuables.
As soon as the robbers left, the terrified woman screamed for help. Her in-laws, who were in the adjacent room, rushed out, but the criminals had already escaped. Police arrived at the scene shortly after being informed.
The incident has sparked panic and outrage in the locality. A police investigation is currently underway, and authorities have assured that efforts are on to identify and apprehend the culprits.
