District Administration Sets Up Additional Shelter Houses in West Tripura Amid Flood Crisis

Date:

Agartala, June 1:

In response to the worsening flood situation, the District Administration of West Tripura has intensified relief efforts by opening multiple shelter houses to accommodate affected residents.

A new shelter house has been established at Sanghati Sangha near Indranagar, operating under the supervision of district authorities. This facility joins the existing shelter at Bijoyee Sangha Club, Banamalipur (Ward No. 21), both aimed at providing temporary relief and safety to displaced families.

Both centers are fully equipped with basic amenities including food, clean water, and medical assistance. Teams from the district administration, along with local volunteers, are working around the clock to ensure the comfort and security of all evacuees.

“We are closely monitoring the situation and taking all necessary steps to safeguard our citizens,” an official from the administration stated.

Residents in vulnerable or low-lying areas are strongly advised to remain vigilant and strictly follow official advisories as weather conditions continue to be monitored.

The administration has assured the public that additional measures will be taken if required, and further updates will be shared as the situation evolves.
