Agartala: Preparations are now complete for the first-ever Tripura State Games, scheduled to begin on February 22, 2026, marking a historic moment for sports in the state. The Tripura Olympic Association (TOA) held a press conference detailing plans for the three-day event, which will include competitions in 18 different sporting disciplines, offering athletes from across the state an important platform to showcase their talent.
The competitions will take place at major venues including the NSRCC in Agartala, College Tilla, the State Tennis Complex, and the Assam Rifles Camp. A grand opening ceremony is planned for 2:00 PM at Dasharath Dev Stadium in Badharghat, where Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha will inaugurate the event, with Sports Minister Tinku Ray also in attendance.
Nearly 3,000 participants are expected to compete, and organizing committees involving senior officials and sports personalities have been formed to ensure smooth execution. This event is seen as a significant step forward in strengthening the sporting culture and infrastructure within Tripura.
