New Delhi was once again rattled by a wave of bomb threats on Wednesday morning, with more than 50 schools receiving alarming emails warning that explosives had been planted on their premises. The incident triggered chaos among students, teachers, and parents as authorities rushed to respond.
According to police sources, the warnings arrived in the early hours through multiple emails, all claiming that bombs would be detonated in several schools across the capital. Within minutes of the alerts, school authorities evacuated children and staff as precautionary measures. Bomb disposal squads, along with local police teams, carried out detailed searches across the affected campuses.
So far, officials have confirmed that no suspicious objects have been found, though the atmosphere of fear remains high. A senior police officer stressed that while there is no immediate evidence of explosives, the authorities are not dismissing the threats as fake without thorough investigation.
This comes just days after a similar scare, when 32 schools in Delhi received bomb threat emails from a group identifying itself as “The Terbizers 111.” In that case, the senders demanded $5,000 in cryptocurrency, warning of potential blasts and even threatening to hack into schools’ IT systems.
Investigators are now probing whether the latest round of threats is linked to the same group or if a new entity is behind them. Cybercrime experts are tracking the origins of the emails to identify the perpetrators.
Parents, however, remain shaken. Many rushed to schools to pick up their children as news of the threats spread, with several calling for tighter security and stronger action against such repeated incidents.
For now, Delhi Police has stepped up surveillance and is urging the public not to panic, assuring that every lead is being pursued.
