According to reports, the arrest took place on Sunday when customs officials conducted a routine inspection of the passenger’s checked-in luggage. To their shock, they found a total of 47 venomous snakes along with several other rare reptile species, all concealed inside the bags.
The seized creatures include three spider-tailed horned vipers, five Asian leaf turtles, and forty-four Indonesian pit vipers. The animals have been confiscated under various provisions of India’s Wildlife Protection Act.
