Job Aspirants Stage Protest Demanding Completion of Jail Warder Recruitment Process

Date:

Agartala, June 10:
Candidates who cleared the physical test for the recruitment of 249 jail warder posts staged a fresh protest today in front of the IG Prisons office, demanding the immediate completion of the long-pending recruitment process. The demonstration caused severe traffic disruption in the area.

The physical test for these posts was held in 2022. Since then, the qualified candidates have been continuously urging the authorities to conduct the remaining stages of the selection process — the written and viva examinations.

Today’s protest once again echoed their demand for the swift completion of recruitment. However, the protest was later dispersed as East Agartala police detained several demonstrators and took them to the police station.
