Mutilated Body Found in Bangeshwar River Sparks Panic in Ghoshpara

Date:

Pratapgarh, Tripura:
Panic gripped the Ghoshpara area of Pratapgarh on Tuesday morning after a badly decomposed and mutilated body of an unidentified person was discovered floating in the Bangeshwar River.

Local residents, alarmed by a foul smell, traced it to the riverbank where they spotted the corpse and immediately informed the police. Upon arrival, police found the body in a severely damaged state, with several limbs detached.

Initial observations suggest the death occurred several days ago, given the extent of decomposition and the overpowering stench. Interestingly, locals claim there was no noticeable odor until this morning, indicating the body might have surfaced recently.

Police have launched an investigation to determine the identity of the deceased and the cause of death.
