No Impact of Nationwide Strike in Tripura

Date:

A nationwide strike called on Wednesday by a joint platform of 10 central leftist trade unions along with farmers’ and rural workers’ organizations demanding the withdrawal of the new labour codes failed to make any impact in Tripura.

Despite continuous rainfall in the state due to a low-pressure system over the past two days, normalcy prevailed across the state, including the capital city Agartala. Daily life continued uninterrupted with businesses remaining open and transport services running smoothly.

Speaking to the media, West Tripura SP Kiran Kumar confirmed that there has been no visible impact of the strike in the state so far, and no untoward incidents have been reported from any part.

Many local traders and transport operators openly boycotted the strike, ensuring regular commercial and commuting activities throughout the day.
