Agartala, may 31 : Agitation is mounting over the ongoing dispute between royal scion Pradyot Manikya Bahadur and the District Magistrate of Gomati, Tarit Kanti Chakma. The controversy erupted after the DM reportedly refused to meet Pradyot when he arrived at the DM’s residence late at night, outside of official working hours.
In response, the youth and student wings of TIPRA Motha have announced a strong protest. At a press conference held on Saturday, leaders of the Motha youth organization declared that from June 2, they will lock down the office of the Gomati District Magistrate, as well as other government offices in the district.
The youth leaders also expressed their anger over recent remarks made by the Chief Minister, which they claim are disrespectful. They have issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the state’s Chief Secretary to address their concerns.
The situation remains tense as the deadline approaches, with growing anticipation of major demonstrations in the district.
