Tripura 30 may :

Tripura is currently grappling with severe weather conditions as heavy rainfall has led to flooding in various parts of the state. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for North Tripura and Unakoti districts, indicating extremely heavy rainfall and potentially dangerous conditions.

For the rest of the districts, a orange alert remains in effect, warning of continued heavy rainfall and the possibility of localized flooding.

According to Brijesh Pandey, Secretary of the Revenue Department, the situation is expected to improve by Saturday afternoon, with rainfall intensity likely to reduce.

Pandey also shared preliminary damage and loss assessments, although specific details are yet to be fully compiled. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and urging residents in affected areas to remain alert and follow safety guidelines.

Rescue teams have been deployed in vulnerable areas, and relief measures are underway to assist those impacted by the adverse weather.
