A sensation erupted in the Din Kobra area under Champahour Police Station in Khowai district after the body of a youth was recovered from a small stream on Thursday morning.
According to police sources, the deceased has been identified as Narayan Debnath, a resident of Mahadev Tilla under Khowai Police Station. Preliminary investigation suggests that Narayan may have been murdered and his body dumped in the stream.
Reportedly, Narayan Debnath was working in Agartala and had recently returned home. On Wednesday morning, he left his residence without informing anyone and did not return. On Thursday morning, the family was informed by the police that his body had been found in the Din Kobra area under Champahour Police Station.
Injuries were found on his face, raising suspicion of foul play. However, the family remains puzzled as to how and why Narayan traveled such a long distance from Khowai to that remote area.
A written complaint has been lodged at Khowai Police Station by the victim’s family. They have also demanded a thorough investigation into the matter.
