In a horrifying and brutal incident, a housewife was the victim of a shocking acid attack late Sunday night, right inside her own home. The incident occurred around 11 PM in the Uttar Para area under the NC Nagar Gram Panchayat of Sonamura.
The victim, identified as Runa Begum, was rushed to the Sonamura hospital by local residents. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was immediately referred to GBP Hospital in Agartala. Dr. Partha Pratim Das, the attending physician at Sonamura Hospital, stated that Runa had suffered severe acid burns, particularly on the lower part of her body. Her condition is reported to be critical.
Upon receiving the information, police from Sonamura Police Station quickly reached both the hospital and the crime scene and have since launched an investigation into the matter.
In a chilling revelation, Runa’s young daughter informed authorities that the attack took place just after her mother stepped outside the house for a routine chore following dinner. It was then that unidentified miscreants threw acid on her.
Family members have alleged that the attack was the result of a long-standing personal dispute. They have named three individuals as suspects: Suman Mia, Rubel Hossain, and Farid Mia.
The case has sent shockwaves through the local community, with many demanding swift justice and strict punishment for the culprits. Police investigation is currently underway.
