Agartala, July 13:

A Special Lok Adalat was organized in Agartala on Saturday under the initiative of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), aiming to provide speedy and amicable resolution to various legal disputes.

The day-long session focused on a wide range of cases, including motor accident compensation claims, matrimonial disputes, bank loan recovery issues, as well as several civil and criminal matters. The initiative was part of a nationwide effort to reduce the pendency of cases and promote alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.

Four separate benches were constituted for the proceedings, which successfully disposed of a total of 3,922 cases. Officials reported that a significant number of cases were resolved through mutual settlement between the parties, saving both time and litigation costs.

The Special Lok Adalat not only provided quick relief to litigants but also highlighted the growing importance of alternative legal forums in delivering justice efficiently and effectively.
