Dharmanagar, June 10: Tension gripped Dharmanagar Degree College on Tuesday morning as students launched a protest over multiple unresolved issues plaguing the institution. Beginning at 9 AM, a large number of students gathered within the college premises and staged a demonstration demanding immediate attention from the authorities.
Alleging negligence towards academic and infrastructural problems, the students resorted to locking the college gates, effectively halting all academic activities for the day. The protestors voiced concerns over inadequate facilities, shortage of faculty, and poor maintenance, which they claim have been affecting their studies for a long time.
Despite repeated complaints, students said no concrete steps had been taken by the college administration to address these problems, prompting them to take to the streets in protest. As of now, the agitation continues, and students have warned of intensifying their movement if their demands are not met promptly.
