Agartala, July 4: A controversy has erupted at one of Agartala’s prestigious educational institutions — Maharani Tulsibati Girls’ School — after serious allegations surfaced against a teacher for allegedly denying young students their right to education and expelling them from school premises.
According to reports, the incident took place on Wednesday, the first day of the new school session. As per school regulations, students are required to attend classes in specific uniforms designated for each day. However, a few primary-level students reportedly arrived in the wrong uniform.
Rather than allowing them to attend classes, the teacher in question allegedly forced them to leave the school premises. This action has sparked outrage among parents, who gathered at the school today to meet the Headmistress and submitted a formal deputation.
The parents have strongly condemned the incident, stating that it not only deprived their children of their basic right to education but also caused mental distress. They emphasized that the uniform error was unintentional and should have been addressed with understanding, especially given the students’ young age.
The school authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident. Meanwhile, parents are demanding immediate action and a written assurance to prevent such incidents in the future.
