A case of theft was reported from SD Enterprise located at Melarmath, Agartala, where a laptop and cash were stolen during the night of July 11. Following the complaint lodged at Agartala West Police Station, an investigation was initiated. A special team led by the Officer-in-Charge of Battala Outpost and West Police Station was formed to probe the incident.
By analyzing CCTV footage, the team successfully identified one of the culprits. Acting swiftly, police arrested two accused – Amit Deb and Sajal Debnath – on Thursday. The stolen items were recovered from their possession.
According to SDPO (Sadar) Debprasad Roy, the duo will be produced before the court on Friday with a plea for police remand. He also mentioned that during further interrogation, names of other individuals involved in similar thefts may surface.
