Tipra Motha Launches Protest March to Delhi Over Bangladeshi Infiltration Issue

Date:

Agartala, July 5: The Tipra Motha party has raised its voice strongly against the issue of alleged Bangladeshi infiltration in Tripura, launching a protest march towards Delhi to demand central intervention.

On Saturday, Tipra Motha members gathered at Agartala’s North Gate and began their march towards the national capital. Speaking about the movement, party leader Debajit Modasingh described Bangladeshi infiltration as an international problem and accused the state government of failing to take effective steps to address it.

“This is not just a regional issue—it’s a matter of national security and identity. The state government has not taken the matter seriously, which is why we are heading to Delhi to directly communicate our concerns to the central leadership,” Modasingh said.

He further claimed that due to unchecked infiltration, many local residents are being deprived of their rights and are forced to fight for their existence in their own homeland. “Despite submitting multiple deputations and staging numerous protests, there has been no concrete solution. Left with no choice, we are now marching to Delhi to seek justice and to demand urgent action to stop the infiltration,” he added.

The party hopes this symbolic and direct action will draw national attention to what it calls a growing threat to indigenous identity and demographic stability in the state.
