In a major political development ahead of the upcoming TTAADC elections, Tipra Motha has put forward a firm demand for 20 seats as part of any alliance with the BJP. The party aims to retain its existing stronghold while also seeking additional constituencies, including areas where it narrowly lost in previous polls.
Party leaders have made it clear that seat-sharing alone will not determine the alliance. Tipra Motha is also insisting on crucial constitutional and political commitments, such as proper land rights for indigenous communities, direct funding to the TTAADC, and full implementation of the tripartite agreement.
The party has emphasized that without these assurances, it may not proceed with any alliance arrangement, keeping the political scenario in Tripura fluid as election talks continue.
