Tripura CM Launches ₹50 Lakh AI-Driven Disaster Preparedness Initiative

CM Manik Saha unveiled a major state disaster management plan featuring AI tools and infrastructure upgrades at a cost of ₹50 lakh. Key elements include:

A Technology Demonstration Unit at Hapania Civil defence training for 2,880 volunteers 26 automated weather stations and rain gauges A Doppler Radar in Belonia An equipment verification portal and land use-tracking interface 

The initiative aims to improve early warning systems and first-response effectiveness in light of past disasters like Cyclones Sitrang (2022), Mocha (2023), Remal (2024), and major floods.
