Tripura Flood Crisis: CM Monitors Situation Closely as Over 1,300 Families Take Shelter

Date:

Agartala, June 1:

Continuous heavy rainfall over the past two days has led to severe flooding in various parts of West Tripura district. The situation has displaced over 1,300 families, who have now been relocated to government-run shelter houses with basic amenities provided.

The Chief Minister of Tripura is personally monitoring the situation and is in constant coordination with top administrative officials. On his directives, NDRF, SDRF, civil volunteers, and other emergency response teams have been deployed across the flood-affected areas to manage the crisis efficiently.

Several localities in Agartala have also reported severe waterlogging. In response, water pumps have been activated to ensure quick drainage and minimize public inconvenience.

The Chief Minister has appealed to the public, saying, “Please do not pay attention to rumors. Everyone is requested to follow official guidelines and take shelter in safe locations. The administration is doing everything possible to ensure safety and prevent any casualties.”

Control rooms have been set up in every block, and toll-free helpline numbers are active to assist people in need. Authorities continue to keep a close watch on the developments and are prepared for any emergency response required in the coming days.
