A 27-year-old youth was seriously injured after being attacked by a bear in Tripura’s Mungiakami area on Monday. The incident took place at Koloi Basti in Bilaikang under the Atharamura ADC Village.
The victim, identified as Anindra Kalai, had reportedly gone to the hills to collect vegetables when the wild bear suddenly attacked him. Locals rushed to his aid and managed to rescue him from the animal’s grip.
He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital and is currently undergoing treatment. Forest officials have been alerted about the incident.
