Woman Drug Peddler Held with Over 21 Kg Ganja at Agartala Railway Station

In a joint operation, the Agartala Government Railway Police (GRP) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) apprehended a woman drug peddler from Agartala Railway Station on Monday night. The accused, identified as Aparna Debbarma (29), a resident of Koraimura, Amtali, was found in possession of 21 kg 490 grams of dry cannabis, neatly packed in nine packets and concealed in a trolley bag.

During initial interrogation, the accused confessed that she had arrived at the station with the intention of transporting the contraband to Delhi, where the seized ganja could fetch an estimated market value of ₹7.5 lakh.

She is scheduled to be produced before the court today, where the police will seek her custody for further investigation.
