In a major breakthrough, police in Sonamura arrested a युवक with counterfeit Indian currency, intensifying concerns over a wider fake currency network in the region. The accused, identified as Amir Hossain Khandakar from Bardowal, was caught with fake notes worth ₹8,000.
According to officials, the arrest was part of an ongoing crackdown on illegal currency circulation. Preliminary investigation suggests that the case may be linked to a larger network involved in the distribution of counterfeit money.
