Youth Attacked for Allegedly Tipping Off Police in Banarasi Saree Smuggling Case

Agartala, June 8: In a shocking incident, a youth named Samrat was allegedly lured and attacked by a group of suspected smugglers who believed he was the police informant in a recent smuggling case.

Two days ago, West Agartala Police raided a house and seized a large quantity of Banarasi sarees, suspected to be part of an illegal trade network. Following the raid, individuals involved in the smuggling allegedly targeted Samrat, suspecting him of tipping off the authorities.

Police have launched an investigation into the assault and are working to identify and apprehend the attackers.
